Our history
In 2001, Elizabeth Gray, through friends and church members, became very much aware of people in need of assistance. Liz is passionate and caring and cannot turn down a cry for help. On her own she began looking after others in many different ways: cooking, shopping, companionship, housework, hospital visits, palliative care, holding hands in comfort and support and administering energy healing.
After a while it became difficult for Liz to spend as much time as was needed with each client and so she enlisted the help of friends and friends-of-friends - all with a similar passion for caring.
Still the need became greater and there have been times when Liz has had to turn people away because the client base she had built and the administration of it became overwhelming. Liz was faced with a difficult choice: either downsize or grow the company.
With the help of her daughter, Laurel, and counselling
from knowledgeable consultants, Liz made the choice to grow the company.
This would enable her to continue with her vision to help people, without
losing the energetic and compassionate caregivers who have made up an
ever expanding team. These caregivers would now become employees of a
new organization with additional security and benefits.
Elizabeth Gray Compassionate Care Inc. has grown to accomodate
many new clients and provide employment for many new caregivers, personal
service workers and nurses.
